Coming from the Western US, I’m no stranger to big mountain ranges. I grew up in the Rockies and the Cascades, so I was super-excited to go to Switzerland and see what their brand of mountains looked like. The thing I loved most was all of the snow! When I took pictures of the mountains, that’s what I focused on. I always exposed for the snow so none of it would be blownout in the direct sunlight, and set my white balance very specifically slightly too-cold so any gold tones from the sunlight would be removed, leaving only pure white snow, white clouds, and the blue shadowing of the mountain, and the pure blue sky.
